watch out for him When Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) goes to HK..

Like everyone says Heath Ledger did a great job as the Joker , though I think his joker is as good a villian as it get it's note quite the classic Joker I always had in mind.
His joker is abit too "sad" ,depressed and even abit too philosophical..

Red Cliff

Most early print/online reviews have been positive for this movie, some even glowing..
Methinks the reviewers aren't very versed in Chinese history /3 kingdom lore or care enough ..

Cos' if you VERY into the history or Novel , I meant REALLY into , You'll very likely vomit blood , which my friends and some in the online chinese history/3K online community did.

I'm no expert but I have more chinese history/3K lore in the arse than some singaporeans have in their head...Though not oblivious to the "creativity" of the production team, I can tahan if the changes made for a better movie..

Personally, I felt it could be better , the butchering of the story/characters and historical inaccuracies aside , the pacing of the movie is uneven, some fights/battles are over elaborate/stylized and the execuation of the tactics/strategies, which is suppose to brilliant is kinda lame.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like the movie , it's living history and a masterpiece compared to Andy Lau's 3K flick "Ressurection of the Dragon". And despite the attrocites commited to the source material by "ressurection of the Dragon". I kinda enjoyed it and there's no wayRed Cliff could possibly be worst..

For people who watch movie regularly, you might have seen the HIP friends advert..

Basically ,it's abunch of ordinary people (NOT.. more like stereotypes) confessing and sharing their accounts of commiting the heinous crime of FILE SHARING in a AA type meeting. This is shot is such a way so people will be curious what HIP means and go check out their webstie and therefore increase the unique hits and therefore they can say the adverts work, even though not many real hardcore file sharer will stop file sharing..

Hello ? It's people like me who gong gong actually pay for Music/games/DVDs that should be wooed. You know CUSTOMERS who actually paid for your sports cars and condos. And instead of repaying actual customers and expanding the base with more value/cheaper price on your product, you waste money scaring and "educating' people who's are not going to pay you whatsovever..

phfff.. reminds me of a while back in HK(or is it taiwan) a bunch of Millionaires recording stars wearing black gathering in a wake setting , desmonstarting against music piracy...
idiots... if you want to stop piracy.. you should have make your albums cheaper and or charge by the song, so that people who just want the one GOOD SONG forced to pay for the other crap songs in your crappy album..

Back on topic I fart in the advert's general direction for their use of the carebear term "file sharer" thru out instead of thieves! Criminals! they've been implying..

Kungfu Panda

I avoided this initially , b'cos I though it's going to be aother karate Kid kinda story overloaded with pop cutural reference and magical holly wood kungfu..

But reviews says otherwise and so I just have to see....
And they're right! The excellent production values aside, this is actually a decent kung fu movie by itself.
Sure, the story is old-fashiod, but the execution is excellent.

the fighting here is actually better IMO than many of the over choreographed and CGed action you seen in recent live action movie from Hollywood and even hongkong..

if you duuno what I meant by over choreographed and use of CG ,go overdose on some taiwan/Singapore joint production with Mainland.

heheh these things are no even the worst things about these massive waste of money..
bad costumes ,bad casting/acting, mostly from mediacrap, the taiwan/mainland actor's main problem is over-acting,unfunny,uneven pacing ..etc

I duuno why, Mainland production by itself is decent, and good even.. but when joined produced with the ofen crappy taiwan and always crapy Singapore's(Mediacrap) the sum is worst than the parts.

The moral of the story is ..no matter how nice and big your pot of soup,one tiny drop of shit is enuff to spoil the whole broil...

Yeah I've not forgotten about teh blog, first I go reservist, then I went holiday , got no time, busy with work , go out , excercise.. , the dog ate my mouse etc etc.

I'm very very angry jsut now , b'cos I got recalled a 2nd time this year..whada #^&$^@#$##% ..

the one that recently, gets played frequently on TV mobile and free-to-air channels the one with some teenagers.. ended with a guy saying...if I can do it so CAN YOU!!!..

The other parts of the advert aside, this particular line infuriates me..
"If I can ..... SO CAN YOU!!"

Who is he? Is he the Jesus of the Green movement? A reformed ecco terrroists?
Who's he to tell us he knows better , he not's even cool ,Looks more like a Rich Ah Beng.
And that smug,I-AM-BETTER THAN YOU smirk when he say SO CAN YOU! makes me want to go set fire to something.

And what's with the girl before him?? I think she's suppose to be sad.. but she looked pissed to me,like someone steal her boyfriend ...
